The veil parts in a cascade of sound, of light.
Recognition? No. Expectation flows through veins
That have known only restriction, not the pains
Of animation, thought, love, passion, the thrill of the fight.
An opportunity, an opening, the stage grows bright
As the cues are set, and vast new lanes
Beckon – “ride on, ride on, break these chains
That restrain you!” – overcoming initial fright.
“Be calm”, a voice warns, “there’ll be time
Enough to make your mark”. So initial excitement
Joins the banished fright in the wings, waiting
For its cue to steal upon this young life’s prime.
Equilibrium reached, these emotions bottled and pent
Up inside, understanding begins in life’s first fling.
