The language that we choose to utter to ourselves in our thoughts is so very important. It affects our moods, our mental and physical health, and the very path that our life takes.

For me, it has been a journey of many small steps.

Step 1 - Learn to listen to your thoughts instead of just thinking them.
Step 2 - Learn when to challenge your thoughts and when to just accept them.
Step 3 - Change your choice of language. Use less emotionally charged and negative words.
Step 4 - Practice, practice, practice. It takes years to challenge the patterns of a lifetime.
Step 5 - Be patient and gentle with yourself.
